Mental Health in Beauty: Household and Personal Care Companies Support Wellness Initiatives

Here is a look at recent efforts from L’Oréal, Revlon and more industry leaders offering support to the community via outreach programs.

It’s no secret that mind and body wellness is the new route to feeling beautiful both inside and out. Furthermore, post-pandemic life has put a spotlight on mental health.

Unilever-owned beauty brand Tatcha recently released a study which explores the link between health and mental wellbeing in its 2022 Tatcha Skincare & Self-Care report. The company surveyed 1,065 customers to understand their stress levels, self-care practices and the role skin care plays in their lives.

Just under three quarters (74%) said they sensed that their mental state and skin are connected.  More than two thirds (69%) have also felt burned out in the past 12 months, or have been in a state of physical and emotional exhaustion due to stress. One in two also felt “overwhelmed by life’s demands” and that they are “falling short.”

The good news is that in 2022, employers have made employee mental health a priority. Read on for recent efforts by household and personal care companies.
